Would it be possible for you to send me a copy of the 1860 Census for Alexander and Louisa by email?Otherwise, I'll make a trip to the library for a copy.Alexander would have been age 54 when he married Louisa, age 21, a young widow?Thomas Clark and Louisa Clark could have been brother and sister from Mahala's first marriage, assuming she had one.Or a young married couple wih baby, Malviny, b 1847.That would have given Louisa a different maiden name.Louisa's maiden name could have been McMath if she came into the marriage with her father. She may not have been a natural child of Mahaly.John could have been age 65 when he married Mahaly, which would mean he probably had an earlier family before Mahaly.Or....Louisa and Thomas might have been younger siblings of Mahaly with a father named Clark.
Mahaly was about age 34 when she married John who was about age 65, time for an earlier marriage for both.
I did find clusters of Clark, Perry, and McMath in Chatham County, North Carolina. Both Mahaly and John McMath were born there and probably married there.
My head spins when I try to straighten out this group. But I DO hope, someday, to find Mahaly's maiden name and parents.
