My husband's gg grandfather was James McNabney. Born in 1809 in Antrium, near Belfast. He emigrated with his wife Elizabeth in 1857 and lived in Perry County, Illinois. He died in 1881 and is buried in Perry County.He was a cabinet maker in Ireland, but he farmed and raised stock in Illinois.Elizabeth survived James and moved to Western Kansas, where she died in 1893.They had seven children: Robert (farmer, died in Americus, Lyon County, KS 1912); Elizabeth A. (who married John McMillian and was widowedand living in Greeley, CO in 1918); William (died in Liberal, KS); Rebecca (married Rev. Mr. Blodgett, a minister of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in College View, Nebraska); Anna (married James Irvin lived in Americus, KS); Margaret (married W.J. Craig moved to Evans, CO); and the youngest was Matthew Steele, my husband's gg grandfather (he began to study law, but then went and founded the Kansas Wholesale Grocery Company in Coffeyville, KS.I have some more information if you are interested.
