Hi Nola, Thanks so much for posting your McNamee information. I am glad to finally find someone who is directly related to the McNamee family of Chickasaw County. Since I posted to this forum, I have located some information through an old high court case that was heard in Jackson, MS about a disagreement between my husband's LUSK family and the MCNAMEE family when they all lived in Yazoo County.I am almost positive that Margaret [McNamee]Lusk was some relation to Peter McNamee but I do not know exactly how they were related. Margaret's father was William McNamee. Evidently Margaret's parents must have divorced because Margaret's marriage license in Adams Co MS states that William McNamee was asked byMargaret's mother and stepfather to give his permission for Margaret to marry Elias Lusk. I do know that the Lusks and McNamees were in the Natchez District in the early 1800s [in Adams and Wilkinson Co], then they moved to Yazoo County, MS sometime in the mid to late 1820s. Then the McNamees moved to Alabama for a while before they moved over to Chickasaw County, MS. Are you familiar with the court case of Lusk vs. McNamee was was orginally filed in Yazoo County in the 1840?. The case was very handy in helping me figure out the McNamee family members but it did not give me any idea of the relationship between my husband's gggrandmother and Peter McNamee. I posted the McNamee query in hopes that someone might be able to help me place Margaret McNamee into the Yazoo County McNamees. If you are interested in learning what I located about the McNamee family, I would like for you to email me privately. My email address is email@example.com.
