In reply to your inquiry concerning Boyd McNayr, b. 29 Oct., 1778, we have the same book - Down the Road to Yesterday. My husband, Philip, is the son of John McNayr (son of George Everett McNayr, son of Parker - page 128).
I have just started looking for the Scottish roots of the McNayr or MacNair family. We are taking a family vacation to Scotland this summer and wanted to know a little more about the family lineage.
I did get a reply this morning (that led me to your inquiry), a reseacher mentioned that "Boyd" is not a Scottish name, possiby Irish or that Boyd may have been his middle name and possibly his mother's maiden name.
So far, I have made little progress, apparently many cencus redords were not started until after 1778.But I will keep searching.
