I am searching for information on Alexander McDonald McNeill, son of Allan McNeill, who was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada in approx 1828. He travelled to Australia between 1849 and 1857 and eventually lived at Ararat in Victoria. He was a mercantile clerk and a mason in PEI and at the time of his marriage in 1857 at Chinaman's Flat he was listed as a cordial manufacturer. His obituary said he was the son of General McNeill, but the evidence for this is non-existent.
Interested in any information anyone else may have.
