I think there must have been two Mary McVeetys, but they must have been related since they were both from Bruce County. Maybe the photo I have is your Miss Mary McVeety and not the grandmother of the Anderson girls. According to the obituary of John Anderson in the Port Elgin times June 18, 1930, he married Mary McVeety of Bruce in 1870. They farmed for many years near the Elbow ( whatever that was ) and then moved to Port Elgin where he had a wood yard and dairy business. About 1890 they moved to Toronto where she died in 1897. Maybe Thomas Henry McVeety had a cousin named Thomas who had a daughter named Mary who married John Anderson. It is frustrating because so many of the names and places connect but the dates don't work.
