Well take your time.Some of us have been working on this all of our lives.In fact now is probably the best time to be working on this task.
I've tried to collect names and link them up forever, and then a year or so ago I came across this pdf file that pretty much sums up one large line of the family history.

I can't say anything about its accuracy and there may be some assumptions made to make it work, but if you can find a link to any of the names here it may be of great help to you.

Of course there are many good books relating to how to do genealogy, but you must be on the right track because you made it this far.
