My grandfather, Thomas Meggison did, indeed, die of some form of bone cancer at approximately 86 years of age. Until then, I believe he was healthy. My mother (his daughter) died in 1992...at age 88. She moved to the West (from Traverse City, Michigan) to be near her family after my father died in 1966. Would like to see any pictures and hear any stories....this is my first venture into past history! Thomas was married to Carrie..who died one year after he did...at age 82. I heard rumors that it was a second marriage for him......a long one, however. I never heard of any other family. I know he came from Canada and had been a lumberjack before attending law school. I think his picture is in the Traverse City courthouse...yet. He was a gentleman, scholar and outdoorsman. I also remember his basement filled with bushels of fruit, etc. from people whom he did work for (law) who could not pay him in any other way. I also remember, this dignified man spitting watermelon seeds with me...in the kitchen of their warm house!...while we drove my grandmother crazy with our antics. He was fun.
