Larry,Are you sure you're spelling it right?I've been spelling it Larry Meegan all these years.Don't tell me I've been wrong! Nice to hear from you.As I wrote Jim, our people came primarily from County Monaghan and some from County Armagh.Back in the days there wasn't much importance placed upon the borders.The Meehans (and I think the its alternate spellings) from what I've seen came more from the western side of the country.But I can be surprised, so let me know if I'm wrong. I've only been able to trace my family back to around 1860 when my g-grandfather was born in Rhode Island. I've been in contact with other Meegans in England, Japan, Australia, and even here in the US.I visited Co. Monaghan St. Patrick's Day, 2000 and saw plenty of Meegan gravestones.One was for Canon Meegan in Castleblaney. So what part of the world are you located?
