MELLs in England, S. Carolina, Georgia
The Library of Congress lists the following books: "The Mells", by J. Douglas Porteus, Thinktank Press, 1988; "The Genealogy of the Mell Family in the Southern States",by P.H. Mell, J.Munsells and Sons, 1897; "The Mell Families", by Ned Burton Smith pub. 1938.
Does anyone have these books, or has anyone read them who can comment on the European origin of the Mell name?
This would be of interest to us all.
Bill
