From what I am reading on blogs it is the Lumbee that are coming up mainly European and African. From what I can see many living Lumbee are virtually indistinguishable from Europeans so that might be why. Others look like they have a lot of African blood.
The Cherokee also a considerable amount of European dna.
I suspect that my family will show much more Native dna than these peoples in NC because they left that area before mixing with so many European groups.
One of the traits I read about along time ago was the fact that Indians never get gray hair because of the great amount of melanin or something else in the hair. This is a trait that runs i my dad's family. He is in his 80s and the his hair is so shining jet black and the same for some of his living siblings. We still also have a very red caste of skin over dark brown.
Early Souian were related to the Sioux tribes now found out West like the Lakota. If you have seen the pure Lakota you know the pure tribes of the Sioux are as dark in color as the Crow. People are much mistaken if they think that the tribes whose members look European are going to show much Native blood.
