Hi Again Judy! Thanks so much for your swift feedback, I so appreciate your information. Yes, it would seem illiteracy was the intellectual scourge of that time period!! And a few other time periods! I, too, have never seen the surname spelled that way. I also see that you replied to my lovely daughter Shawna Monet Popejoy, back in 2008 I believe, concerning my mother Katherine Menees. Thank you so much for helping her, she is literally obsessed about her lineage, so any help she can get is greatly appreciated. The NcNees(e) websites are proving to be of enormous help, as there is a vast amount of info when utilizing the different variants of the surname. I will continue to post on this forum, I am also in process of continuing the family tree past the Isiah McNees generation and finding out exactly who the forefathers of this line are and where they lived in Ireland, etc. If I find any more info, I will give it to you. Again, thanks for all your input, it has been of great value to my family and myself, as I am the oldest living generation for my descendants.
