Yes, I remember the previous discussions. I think my contributions were somewhat hampered by not then understanding that the Isle of Wight was a county in VA a well as an island in Hampshire, UK!
I'm so glad you've found the evidence for where your Merry Webb (b.1705) fits into this family, and that my exhortations to folks not to overlook this family helped!
As you're a direct descendent from William and Jane Merry I'll e-mail you privately about the wild hypothesis I have about W & J. I suspect they originated in Gloucestershire and had two children (William and Elizabeth) baptised over here, not in VA. This is VERY speculative, based on very circumstantial information only.
The charts I did ages ago aren't on this computer so give me a few weeks, as I'll have to type them in again.I've not been working on family history for a while, so haven't made any progress on finding evidence to support my hypothesis.
So, will be in touch in a few weeks.
See also my other message about the possibiliy that there might yet have been MERRY descendents from this line, although taking Jane's will at face value there weren't: http://genforum.genealogy.com/merry/messages/1077.htmlhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/merry/messages/1077.html
