Hi, Brenda, I may have been in touch with you before.I have a little information about Sarah Messemore Pilkington, d/o Rebecca. She married Wm. Pilkington in St. Clair Co., Alabama in 1859.Wm was conscripted during the Civil War and evidently deserted his family during the war.[He had three children by a previous relationship or marriage and three boys with Sarah.]Sarah later married M. J. Parker of Talladega County, Alabama (in 1870)and had several more children. Two of Sarah's children (by Pilkington) grew up in St. Clair Co.; one son went to Texas. My great-grandfather was George, son of Wm. Pilkington and Wm.'s first wife, name unknown.Evidently, George was raised by Wm. Messemore, Sarah's brother, because he was living with the Messemore family in 1870.For several years, I have done much research tracing this Wm. Pilkington and believe he remarried and died in Tennessee. I am interested in the Messemores because I am trying to find information about the mother of my George. No one seems to know who she was or what happened to her. However, much about William and his families is lost or forgotten. If interested or if you have any clues about my George, please let me know.
