I speak very little French. My parents did not encourage it, because I think at that time is was considered unpatriotic to not speak English and there were so many nationalities, the nuns were trying to get rid of all the accidents.
I did get your attachment and thank you. It does have some info I did not have. In it you list Joseph b. 7/16/1872 and Alphonse married to Marie Anne Rail as seperate people. They are the same person, Joseph Alphonse. For years I looked for Alphonse and couldn't find him. Then my cousins informed me that his first name, as in many other cases, was Joseph. There are so many Joseph Methots that sometimes you go a little crazy trying to keep them all straight. Thank God for the practice of the wives keeping their own surnames.
Heres some additional info for you:
Marguerite Beaudin was born Dec. 15, 1836.
Lazare-Benoni Methot died dec. 23, 1957 in Newport.
Rose Methot full name was Rose Delima Methot.
I show several Joncas in my extended Family Treemaker records. Can you tie me in to how we are connected? Names, dates, etc. I assume we are cousins of some degree.
My 42 pages will be in the mail as soon as I get to the post office.
