My grandmother, Clifford Methvin Lokey was a sister of William Trulock Methvin.W T and much of his family are buried in the Methvin family cemetery located on the homestead of James and Margaret Burke Methvin where I grew up.This cemetery is located about 7 miles south of Georgetown, Ga on the farm now owned and operated by the Self family.W T was born 11/01/1831 in Wilkinson Co., GA and died on Jan 19, 1902 in Clay County, GA.On Nov. 4, 1852 he married Mary Jane Sears who was born 12/03/1836 in Stewart Co., GA. and died July 28, 1872 in Clay Co., GA.They had seven children.
After Mary Jane died, W T married Mollie Castelow sometime between 1872 and 1874. They had 5 children.Mollie died May 30, 1889 in Clay County, GA.
W T then married Nanny Ogletree sometime between 5/30/1889 and 1/19/1902 (his death date).Nanny is buried in the Georgetown cemetery (unidentified grave in one of the Ogletree family plots). I have been told that Nanny died before W T did.
With respect to Mollie Castellow, she was a member of the rather large family of Castellows of South West Georgia. I have no information on the origins of the name or whether it was indeed Castellaw.
