Married Margaret Rye in 1835.Margaret b. March 16, 1820 in Alsace, Germany/Switzerland; d. July 8, 1888 in Demopolis.Both are buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis, Lot 4.
They had the following children:1. Sophia b. February 12, 1838 in Mobile, AL; d. February 3, 1903 in Marengo County.Married Franklin S. Breitling on November 25, 1858 in Marengo County.She is buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Lot 93.2.Jacob b. abt. 1840 in Mobile or Demopolis;buried in Riverside Cemetery, Lot 4.3.George J. b. bet. 1842-April 12, 1845 in Demopolis; d. December 4, 1927 in Demopolis.Married Ida Vaughan on December 13, 1871 in Trinity Church, Demopolis.He was a member of C 15th Confederate Cavalry, CSA.Ida was b. bet. 1847-1849; d. 1931.George and Ida are buried in Riverside Cemetery, Lot 156, Section A, Row 11.(Although I have much more information on Ida's family, I don't know more about George and Ida's immediate family.A note on Ancestry.com states that they had 4 children.)4.
