MRS. CHRISTIAN (MARGARET MICHAEL) KOERNER AUGUST 20, 1909
Mrs. Christian Koerner died at the family home in Chenoa on Wednesday (Aug. 18) morning at 7:30 o'clock, following a lingering illness with cancer of the liver. Margaret Michael was born in Hessen, Germany, September 15, 1846. She came to America with her parents in 1854 and they settled near El Paso. On December 17, 1863, she united in marriage with Christian Kperner. For 24 years the family resided north of Chatsworth, moving from this locality to a farm south of Chenoa a number of years ago they moved into Chenoa where the family home had been since. Besides her husband Mrs. Koerner is survived by four sons and four daughters, namely: Philip A., of Chatsworth; Chris, of Fairbury; Chas., of Chenoa; Henry, of Pontiac; Mrs. Elizabeth Biebes, of Cullom; Mrs. Kate Lutz, of Aurora; and Misses Lucy and Emma, who reside at the family home. In addition to the immediate family she leaves two brothers, Jacob Michael, of Larmar, Mo.; and Philip Michael, of Secor; and two sisters, Mrs. John Armstong, of Secor; and Mrs. Adam Ellinger, of Chatsworth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at two o'clock at the Chenoa M.E. church, although Mrs. Koerner was a member of the Evangelical church of Weston. Rev. Woerner, of Weston, will officiate, and the interment will be at the Chenoa cemetery.
