I was handed down a scrapbook that my great-grandmother kept, and in it are at least two obituaries for the Michaelis Family, that I thought somebody may be interested in. The first one is for a Miss Clara Michaelis (never married--died as a young woman) and the other is for (I would assume her mother) Mrs. Agnes Michaelis (date written on obituary is Dec. 12, 1941--which could either be the date of her death or the date of the newspaper clipping). Contained in her obituary is some of the following information--age 84; VERY active in the community; born Aug. 11, 1857 in Clyde, Ohio; came to Kansas when she was 12; widow of Theodore J. Michaelis (died in 1911); surviving 2 brothers--W.H. Burnham, Salina, and Adrian Burnham, Topeka, and a sister Mrs. Elizabeth J. Stevens, Wichita; buried in Wildmead cemetary.
I can scan this information for you, if you would like it... Gregndebbypotter (aol.com)
