The information Louis A. Burgess cites in his book, “VA Soldiers of 1776," appears to be from the Virginia Land Office military certificates, which I have now seen for myself on microfilm.According to said records, dated 1832-1833, Henry Micou had the following 8 children, named as heirs:
John H. Micou Mungo Roy Micou Ann Maria Micou Eleanor Micou (“who married her cousin Richard H. Micou,” son of Richard & Anne Micou??) Catherine E. Micou (“who married William Frank”) Elizabeth Beatrix Micou (“who married Samuel Reynolds”) Turner D. Micou Thomas H. Micou
I found the following marriage records which pertain to the above heirs:
John H. Micou m. Harriet Goldsmith on Feb 7, 1804, in King George Co, VA Mungo Roy Micou m. Nancy/Ann Rose on Dec 20, 1823 in Caroline Co, VA Catherine E. Micou m. William Frank on July 26, 1808 in KG Elizabeth Beatrix Micou m. Samuel Reynolds on May 26, 1816 in KG Turner D. Micou m. Elizabeth Redman on June 11, 1825 in KG Thomas H(ill?) Micou m. Nancy C. Goldsmith on Oct 29, 1820 in KG
My ancestor, Catherine E. Micou, and her husband William Frank, were dead by 1832.Their 3 children, William Frank, Jane Frank (who married Richard Redman on Jan 27, 1825 in KG), and Ann Maria Frank, were named as heirs in Catherine’s place.
I’m still trying to figure out where Henry Micou belongs in the Micou big picture. Is there anyone else out there researching this particular line?
