Milano's from Pietraperzia, Enna, Sicily
I am researching a family of Milano's that came from Pietraperzia, a small town in the provence of Enna, in Central Sicily. There are hundreds of Milano's in this town, and probably many are related. The particular family that I have traced back to the later part of the 18th century, was the family of Francesco Milano, his wife Rosaria Puzzo, and their five children (Vincenzio, Teresa, Agata, Salvatore, & Giuseppe). My grandfather is Salvatore. This family left Sicily from the port of Palermo on the ship "Italia" and arrived at Ellis Island on March 26th, 1911, with their destination being Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (South Philadelphia, the Italian area of the city). Francesco was 48 years old when he came to America. He had a brother who immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts. Francesco's father was named Vencenzio, and Vencenzio's wife's name was Teresa Carieri. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken Milano
