Erin, I am researching my Riser (spelled all kinds of ways) ancestors and in a line I really know very little about, but another possible relative sent me info and I am trying to get my leaves on the tree right. There is an Arthur Riser b. 1790 SC (Autauga, Alabama 1850 Census who died before 1852 Autauga, Alabama who married a Rachel Millender b. 1795 SC, married about 1817 SC and their children were all named in Elizabeth Riser's estate distribution, Autauga, Alabama 1852; were in the 1850 & 1860 Autauga, Alabama Censuses: Louisa b. 1818 SC died after 1860, of Bibb, Al William Edward b. 1825 Sc (1850,1860 Census; d. 1898 Morehouse Parish, LA.) John M. b. 1830 AL Julia b. 1833 AL Jacob b. 1836 AL Eliza b. 1838 AL Susan A. b. 1841 AL
Perhaps we can help each other.
The above Arthur Riser is a brother to Jacob Riser, b. 1784 SC (1850 Autauga census) Daniel Riser b. abt 1788 SC Adam Riser b. 1792 SC Elizabeth Riser b. abt 1794, unmarried, d. 1852 Autauga, Alabama and she is the Elizabeth that named the children when her estate was divided 1852-1854.I STILL have not discovered who the parents of these five (5) Riser individuals. It is thought by some that they may be the Riser family in the 1820 Orangeburg County Census.
When Elizabeth Riser died she left her estate to the children of her "four deceased brothers".Daniel and Adam are never mentioned in Autauga, and the Adam Riser in MS and Talladega Ala seem to be already accounted for.If you even have an inkling that there may be a connection to your Jake or the Jesse you mentioned, PLEASE contact me.I hope this will help us make a connection or at least find out some further information.I would love to have more info on either line. Best regards from Clinton,SC Lib
