Two Newtons Miller of Marion County, AL
Wondering if anyone might know something about the hereinafter described couple of 'Newts' Miller from latter 1800s/1900s Marion County, AL.
James Newton ('Newt') Miller was born ~1857AL to Thomas ('Tom') Miller & Julia Ann Akers.Tom was a son of Marion County patriarch Nathaniel Miller, Sr. & his final wife Margaret.James Newton Miller is census-evident with his parents in 1860MarionAL & 1870MarionAL, & with his widower father Tom in 1880MarionAL.Nowhere hence to my knowledge is it certain just where was James Newton Miller.
In 1900MarionAL, teenager (b10/15/1883AL) Newton A. ('Newt') Miller was 'boarding' with William & Sarah Shaw.By 1910, 'younger Newt' was married, & remained census-evident from then through 1930MarionAL, & in 1940LamarAL.'Younger Newt' died on 5/16/1951 at Winfield, MarionAL.His parents were cited on the record as Newton & Ann Miller. For what it might be worth (perhaps little), except for the 1910MarionAL census citing younger Newt's mother having been born in GA, his other three census appearances reflecting such information depict both parents bAL.
Sarah Shaw (in whose home Newton A. Miller 'boarded' in 1900) was a younger sister of Smith William Gann. The mother of siblings Sarah Gann>Shaw & Smith William Gann was Rachel Miller>Gann.Rachel Miller>Gann was an older sister to Thomas Miller who was the father of James Newton Miller.
Would surely appreciate input from students of any one or all of the referenced lines, & to compare notes on whether someone 'else' senses a possibility of lineal interconnection between James Newton Miller & Newton A. Miller.
My own view is that a common denominator 'might' have been Mary Ann Welch.
