Do you have any of the family's birth, marriage or death certificates? These will give you a lot of information on things like ages, parent's names, wife's maiden name and where they were living.
You can get copies of these from the relevant Registry Offices or from the GRO in Stockport, but for that you do need some idea of names and dates, and they cost you, so its a lot easier if you have them.
If you can get back to someone living in 1901 you can then start searching on the other censuses.
I suspect that from where you live and the spelling of the surname that you belong to the part of the Millership clan that moved to Polesworth from Foleshill about 1800.
Let me know if you have some certifcates and we'll see how we can take it from there.
