George Leroy Millican MILLICAN, , GEORGE LEROYWent to meet his Lord on February 2, 2007.He was born in Parsons, Kansas to Roy E. & Dora Millican and grew up in Dallas and Waco, Texas. He was a talented musician, playing first the violin and then, professionally the guitar.He graduated from Waco High School and attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, where he met his first wife, Emma Rose, to whom he was married for 54 years. After WW II he played the guitar professionally for many years on the WFAA Radio Early Bird Show and the Novell Slater Show, and with other bands in the Dallas area. He returned to college, graduating Phi Beta Kappa from SMU, and later began working at Texas Instruments where he helped develop the guidance system for the HARM missle. He remained at TI until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dallas for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Blackwell Millican to whom he was married for twelve years, one daughter; Carol Rose Kimbrough and husband John, grandchildren, Tracy Carl and husband John, and Kelly Diane Johnson, and husband Steve, and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Carl, Melody Carl, and Blake Johnson. Interment will be Feb 6, 2007 in Restland Memorial Park, Dallas Texas.
