I have a tentative line that extends back to the Plantagenets. I emphasize that this is TENTATIVE! I won't guarantee anything shown here, because I can't document any of it. In order to keep it from being too complex, I'll show only the parent-in-direct-line for each person.
We know Grace Bennett was the daughter of Cuthbert Bennett, who lived from 1680 to 1718. The parents of Cuthbert, however, have been impossible to document. After endless frustration and digging, I've reached the conclusion that Cuthbert was the son of Edward Bennett, 1652-1718. The fact that father and son both died in 1718 may be part of the confusion around this line. This connection is the only one I'm not absolutely sure of. If it's correct, then:
Edward Bennett was the son of Elizabeth Whitmore. I have no dates for Elizabeth. She was the daughter of Thomas Whitmore, 1612-1653. Thomas was the son of Dorothy Weld, 1574-1626. She was the daughter of John Weld III, 1549-1580. John was the son of Joan FitzHugh, 1512-?. She was the daughter of John FitzHugh, 1485-?. John was the son of George FitzHugh, 1463-1505. George was the son of Alice De Neville, (Baroness FitzHugh), 1430-1504. Alice was the daughter of Alice De Montague, (Countess of Salisbury), 1406-1463. She was the daughter of Lady Eleanor De Holland, 1373-1406. Eleanor was the daughter of Thomas De Holland II, (Second Earl of Kent), 1350-1397. Thomas was the son by her THIRD marriage of Joan Plantagenet, Princess of Wales by virtue of her first marriage (to The Black Prince of Wales), 1328-1385. Princess Joan was the daughter of Prince Edmund of Woodstock Plantagenet, 1301-1329. And Prince Edmund was the son of Edward Plantagenet, Edward I, King of England, 1239-1307.
From there on, the line is a matter of history. You can trace the Kings of England as far as you care to.
Again, I remind you that I can't PROVE any of this. It's a starting point for those who want to play with it. Enjoy!
