I am trying to find anyone with information on Zella Minard I am not sure on the birth date of 1901 but it is close. Her father was Jara E. Minard, her Mother's name was Dora Minard (Mother was addressed as: Mrs. J. E. Minard or Mrs. M – birthday in March)Zella's Mother had a sister Gertrude (Gertie) Lee, who had a son Zella's 1st cousin named Earl George Lee born Feb 23, 1913 (and possibly another son Francis, and a daughter Eliza). There is a postcard from Zella’ grandmother from 1914 postmarked Birmingham, MI) I think Zella was born in Mayville, MI?? possibly where her Mother's family was from. Zella & her family moved to Saginaw around 1906 they had friends and family in Fairgove, and Detroit. I have many names and some addresses but just cannot find a single connection.
There is a reference to scarlet fever and that her Mother Dora was sick. Also, that Zella was sick but this was several years later ...
Addresses in Saginaw, MI: 420 South 5th Street 639 So. Meadock
I am in possession of postcards 400+ sent to Zella and her Mother a few to her Father from 1904 to 1916 by many family members preserved in a post card binder (mostly the Mother’s side) and one unidentified card from 1931. 12 years of correspondence I bought the book 3 years ago on eBay, I am not a collector of cards and really don’t know why I was so drawn to it I had decided to do something with the cards but after reading them I can’t seem to take them out and separate them into a “display” … when I purchased them I asked where they came from and why but was never given an answer. I wonder if Zella passed at a young age since I can’t seem to find info. On her.
Zella also had an “Aunt Nellie Ferguson” I’m not sure but think she may have been her father’s sister and a Minard before marriage.
What promted me to search was after showing the album for the first time to a friend at 96 young years he felt as I did that I needed to see if anyone was out there that knew and would want this precious piece of family heritage. I know I would love to have something like this from my great, great Aunt or whatever.
The cards are extremmly nice & well preserved but the coorespondence is very touching and you know that "little Zella" was so loved by so many people.
Any help contacting relatives would be appreciated, please leave your email address do I can contact you.
Thanks for any help I have no idea where to start...
