The Saint Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Review, June 15, 1878, Local Matters: George Minard has been unlucky in the matter of chickens. While he was absent from his home, the other day, the rain flooded his coops, drowning some sixty of the feathery pets. And at another time, when again absent, nature tried her hand at chicken killing, with better success than at the first trial. And now George mourns 150, all told.(Posted as a courtesy, not related.)
