If you are researching Nimrod Mitchell
For those descendents of Nimrod Mitchell who are trying to correct their lineage, go to vol. 2 of The Granville District of NC, abstracts by Margaret M. Hofmann. This is the only place I have ever found a Nimrod Mitchell listed in NC. He was evidently a very young man, I found no deeds for him but there are three different occasions where he acted as chain bearer. The first time on 21 May 1762, Benjamin Hardy was filing for 700 in Johnston Co. then on 20 Jan 1862, this was where Joab Mitchel was filing for 700 acres joining his own corner and again on 1 Jan 1763,also in Vol. four, 17 May 1760 he is again chain bearer for Joab Mitchell for 700 acres in Granville Co.
Also in Vol. 4 on 29 Sept 1760 there is an entry, warrent & plat for 285 acres in Edgecomb Co to a Benjamin Mitchel, land joining Peter Mitchel.
