I am wondering if this line is related... does anyone know?
I found this family in 1870 Pike Co., AL
John Mobley29MWMissouriFarmer Mary C27 F WGeorgiaKeeping House William8 M WAlabama John5 M WAlabama Ichabod2 M WAlabama Caroline14 F BLACKGeorgia
and (even though in this 1880 census in Talladega Co. AL, John & Mary answered they were born in different places) I believe this is the same family in 1880 Talladega:
John MOBLEY Self M M W 40 AL Occ: Farmer Fa: KY Mo: KY Mary MOBLEY Wife F M W 35 AL Occ: Housekeeper Fa: GA Mo: GA William MOBLEY Son M S W 18 AL Occ: Farmer Fa: AL Mo: AL John MOBLEY Son M S W 14 AL Occ: Farmer Fa: AL Mo: AL Ick MOBLEY Son M S W 10 AL Fa: AL Mo: AL Arrine MOBLEY Dau F S W 8 AL Fa: AL Mo: AL Lena MOBLEY Dau F S W 6 AL Fa: AL Mo: AL Charlie MOBLEY Son M S W 4 AL Fa: AL Mo: AL MOBLEY Dau F S W 2M AL Fa: AL Mo: AL
I am *thinking* that the 8 year old daughter called Arrine could possibly be my husband's great grandmother, Martha Irene (she went by Irene) Mobley, b. Jan 1871.Some of her death records say she was born in FL, but we all know how often that is wrong...considering she was 93 when she died!!She died in 1964 in Anniston, Calhoun Co., AR, and was married to Bart (Boss) Pike.
Since this John Mobley answered in 1880 that his parents were from Kentucky, and he named a son Ichabod, and he lived in Talladega Co., AL in 1880... sure seems like it's the same family.
Would LOVE to find this family, so I could find out if Arrine is really Irene!
