In a web site by Larry Clayton, concerning LOVEJOYs, he stated that he didn't know if the son JOHN LOVEJOY whose father was EDWARD LOVEJOY & his mother, JEMIMA (MOBLEY) LOVEJOY was still living when estate of EDWARD LOVEJOY was being settled in Jackson Co, GA in 1813...
JOHN LOVEJOY was still living & married POLLY WARD, whose father appears to be THOMAS WARD & mother, MARY (ZACHARY) WARD (dau of PETER ZACHARY/ZACHRY, RS.
JOHN & POLLY (WARD) LOVEJOY moved at some point into Henry Co, GA & settled there. One of their sons was JAMES L. LOVEJOY b 1809 mar in 1839 Henry Co, GA to EUGENIA ANN IRVIN (TALLEY). These 2 moved down into Clinch Co, GA sometime before the War Between the States, according to family info.
There is a town named LOVEJOY (used to be LOVEJOY Station) that still exists today, south of Atlanta, GA.
One of their daus, STATIRA ANN LOVEJOY, b ca 1839, d 1918 mar JOHN CARROLL LAMB, b 1832 NC d 1863, JOHN C. LAMB, Maj., CSA, died near Jackson, MS during War.
Hope this adds interesting info for all MOBLEY, LOVEJOY, & LAMB folks.... Thank you, Sarah Howell Studstill
