Hello, I am a document trader & collector & recently purchased a very exciting document. It is an original muster roll for a Confederate unit - the 9th Battalion Georgia Infantry, Company D. The roll lists Martin D. Mobley who enlisted on 3/34/1862 as a private at Elberton, GA into Co. D of the 9th Battalion GA.Additional research indicates that his residence was Elbert County, GA and that on 5/6/1863 he transferred into Co. G of the 37th GA Infantry and was surrendered on 4/26/1865 at Greensboro, N.C.His full military records can be obtained at the National Archives under film number M226, roll 43.On my roll, dated April 30, 1862, Martin is listed as present and apparently healthy.
I am glad to offer pictures of this very rare document to descendants in exchange for information about the soldiers listed. I also have additional information about the company histories. Please e-mail me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
