A book titled "Hope Area Families", written by Mildred Dixon Harrod, says that Jennie was the daughter of Milton and Sarah Wilson, and was one of nine children. The book goes on to say she moved to Hartsville when she was a small child and that after the death of Jacob Mobley, she married Jacob Ricker. Her name in "Hope Area Families" is given as Jennie Wilson Ricker and two brothers are identified - John Bottorff of Xenia, Ohio and James Bottorff of Hartsville, Indiana. In the Indiana, Bartholomew County Clerk's Office Coffman File, Jennie's name is given as Jennie F. Bottorff. I question the accuracy of the Harrod book because the 1880 census for Bartholomew Co., Indiana lists a Milton S and Sarah Bottorff with three children including a Jennie F born about 1868 (Jacob's wife, Jennie was born 9/4/1867 in Clark County, Indiana). The same Milton and Sarah Bottorff appear in the 1900 and 1910 censuses for Bartholomew Co. Jacob A Mobley was born 8/18/1865, married Jennie on April 8, 1886 and died December 20, 1929. Jennie married Jacob Ricker (d: 1941)in March of 1932 and she died October 26, 1944 in Greensburg, Indiana. Jennie and Jacob Mobley has seven children from 1887 to 1889. The source of most of this information is the Indiana census combined with what is noted in the Coffman file.
