Hi Wendy, Thanks for your quick note about the Muckeridge family. Looking at my notes I have got the information I posted about William and Sarah getting married in Tasmania wrong. I was thinking of their daughters marriage.
I do not have much on William and Sarah, except from a note from the Archives office of Tasmania. It reads: In 1848 the Muckeridge family were living in Mary Street Launceston, and according to the census returns both parents had arrived free in the colony but there is no record of them in our indexes. The census returns indicates that William Muckeridge was aged between 45 and 60 years old and his wife between 21 and 45 years old.
I will list what information I have on the Muckeridge family. I come from the line of Phoebe Ann Muckeridge and James Murrie, who married in Tasmania on the 30th of March 1853. Children of this marriage were: 1. Sarah Jane 2. Emily 3. David 4. Alan Alexander baptised 9th October 1864 and died in infancy 5. Annie Alexandra born 26th September 1866. She married twice, firstly to Walter Robert Oliphant and then to Robert Tate. Walter and Annie had a daughter Emily Henrietta Oliphant who married Donald Havelock Wilson who had a daughter Ellen Wilson who is my grandmother, she married Harold Gledhill. I have more information on the above line but details are with my father in Australia.
I also have the son of William and Sarah , George born on the 8th of July 1834 and baptised on the 3rd December 183? George married Mary Ann Hickson and had six children.
The second son John was married to Elizabeth strangeway and had 3 children.
I have more details on George and John's children but with a fracture to my wrist typing it all is too much.
