I am still looking for information to connect Abraham Moon/Mohn to Werner/Vernor Moon/Mohn. Veror Mohn was born in July of 1726 in Langeselbold, Hesse, Germany and died sometime in 1796, place and exact date of death has not been determined.
Verer Mohn came to America on the Ship Elizabeth on 8/27/1733 with his family and the Grauels/Crowls/Crowleys.
In 1752 Werner Moon was taxed as a married man in Cumru Twp, Berks County Pa. He was listed with John and Ludwick Moon. Michael Crowl is also listed.
Werner Mohn was mentioned in his father's will in Berks County Pa on 6/2/1764.
Werner purchased land Berks County Pa. from the Conrad Weisier's estate in 1768.
A deed in 1770 for property bought by Werner in Berks County Pa. was sold at auction and Werner was indicated as being deceased.
Warren (Varner) Moon was on the "Index to the Tithables of Loudoun County" Virginia from 1772 to 1774 and then again in 1782 and 1786.
In 1778, there was a Vernon Mo(??) who was mentioned in the will of Johan Michael Crowl/Grauel as the husband of his daughter Catherine. Johan died in Adams County Pa.
Then in 1787, Verner Moon was taxed from the Personal Property Tax list in Loudoun County Va. with 3 horses and 5 cattle. The following year, he was on the tax list with only 1 horse.
Tracking Warren/Verner Moon/Moon is as evasive as Abraham Moon.
Abraham Moon was born on 4/6/1771 and I have no direct information about where or who his parents were. He was next seen on 10/25/1789, at the age of 18, at the New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church as Abraham Mohn. The church was located in Lovettsville, Loudoun County Va.
Abraham was found again taking communion on 5/8/1791 at the same church, again as Mohn.
Johannes Moon was born to Abraham and Sophia Man (Moon) on 4/4/1797 and is christened at the Apples Lutheran and Reformed Church in Thurmont, Frederick County Md. Abraham and Sophia had George Moon on 10/26/1798 and then Sophia died sometime after that. Records show John and George were placed in an orphanage and Abraham remarried to Mary Hull in 1799. The had another 11 children.
Does anyone have any information different from what I have posted here? If so, please post the information here or write to me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
p.s. I give credit for all of the above information to all the people who have been researching this line over the last couple of years. Almost all of this information has been obtained from other researchers. I take little credit for the information, just in its assembly.
