YDNA Testing Results
I became very frustrated with the YDNA testing results because I found so few who even came close to matching my test results. However, I am now finding that not everyone who has taken the YDNA test, then put their results in YSearch. To be matched with everyone else in the YSearch database, everyone must input their YDNA data into YSearch. Then you will be notified about matches by YSearch.
Once you receive your YDNA test results, you must go to http://www.familytreedna.comhttp://www.familytreedna.com, then to Ysearch (in the middle of the page) to create a new user and manually input your results.
I found my only perfect match with a 37 marker test (to a Dunn no less!) because someone sent an email to me with all the Dunn's who took the test.It just happened that most of those on the list, had not input their YDNA test results into YSearch.I contacted YSearch and asked them why the other persons results were not in YSearch and they wrote back and said the person had not input their data in YSearch, which is necessary to find any matches.
If you have taken the YDNA test, please go back and make sure you have input the data in YSearch.Maybe that will make a difference in the comparisons.
This match has encouraged me to go to the next level and obtain a higher YDNA test result, such as 59 or 66 markers (I think). But, everyone needs to input their test results into YDNA to make the system work as intended.
Thanks,
Mike Moon
