From a combination of census and my great-grandmother's notes:
William Montgall m Permilia who spoke both French and German.Permilia was b abt 1788 in Iowa? d. aft 1860.I had only one name of their children
Rev. William Marks Montgall b 11/1/1830 in Iowa, Tenn. or Kentucky (from census info) m 3/13/1851 Emiline Graham b 2/12/1832 in IL her parents were both born in Kentucky and her mom's name may be Malinda b 1813. Emiline d 2/28/1920 in Roy, Pierce, WA

1. Thomas Jefferson b 12/25/1851 d 11/21/1861
2. Martha Permelia b 4/20/1853 Wayne Co. IL m 9/28/1871 at Bush Creek, Wayne, IL Robert Hall Kirkpatrick d 7/24/1881 Carters Store, Washington, AR
3. Amanda Louisa b 12/4/1854 m RICHARDS d. 9/20/1872
4. Mary Jane b 6/14/1856 m Jasper Newton Shelton d 2/7/1883
5. Josiah Bennett b 4/25/1858 m 5/23/1881 Cammie Carolina Bland who was born in Kansas. He d 11/14/1914

From the census data it seems either people were confused when talking to the census taker or state lines were not done up at this time which I have not researched yet as a possibility.
