My family and I travelled in to Edmonton yesterday, and tonight we had a somewhat smaller rendition of a family reunion ourselves-- Sam treated whoever could make it in to Edmonton to a dinner theatre, and there were 11 of us: Sam, his daughter, Mike's wife and 2 kids, myself, my mother and 2 sisters, and my sisters' boyfriends.
I mentioned the idea of the reunion to Sam when I passed on the information that you had sent us, and he loved it.In fact, he pretty much just said: "I want to do it.When?"Our families have taken occaisional vacations together, and one to New Mexico sounds Fantastic!
I'll call Chris when we get back home and see what he thinks, but most of us already think that the idea for a Reunion would be amazing. The sooner the better-- maybe this summer?Sam said something along the lines of "why waster time?We may never have a chance to go visit again, and no one wants that."He also found the thought of you being a grandmother hard to swallow-- he remembers you being too young for that :-)
Also, I found an letter written to me from Athena from a few years ago, and it had all sorts of information more about Nap, and some about your father that I'm sure you already know, in New Mexico. He was the mayor of Blueridge (a much smaller community than Medicine Hat), but not Medicine Hat itself. They lived in Medicine Hat for only about 6 months when they were all still American Citizens, and the next time Nap and Athena returned, it was for better care for Nap's parkinsons.
As to the tapes, my eldest sister, Jessie, remembers listening to them when she was younger.I'm sure that my grandmother still has them somewhere.
Anyway, I'm tying up my sister's computer, and she has 3 projects due during this coming midterm week for her physics program, so I should let her on.
