Just found this info... William E. MOODY b. Sept. 1861 in Brunswick, ME son of William C. MOODY (brother to my 3rd grt. grandfather Joseph D. MOODY, the Indian (half-blood) doctor), and Wm.'s 1st wife, their son William E. MOODY married to Lillian G. COLLINS who was b. Jan. 1871 in/of Bath, Lincoln Co., ME daug. of James W. COLLINS and Evelyn W. LUCE (per Lillian's death record). William E. MOODY and Lillian G. Collins apparently adopted a daughter named Mildred W. (Collins) who was a niece of Lillian's. In the 1900 Brunswick, ME census is listed as follows: William E. MOODY b. Sept. 1861 age 38 married 10 years day laborer b. ME ME ME (however his mother was born in MA see 1880 census when he was living with his father William C. Moody) Lillian G. - wife b. Jan. 1871 age 29 b. ME ME ME and Mildred W. MOODY - Adopted Daughter b. May 1897 age 3 b. ME ME ME
William E. MOODY died and Lillian his widow remarried to a Winfield S. GATCHELL who was in the 1910 Brunswick, ME census with her living in her house that she owned with Wm. E. MOODY. Also living with Winfield and Lillian G. (she now age 39 noted as this being her 2nd marriage and married for 8 yrs to this man), was Mildred W. MOODY who in this census is noted as the "niece" age 12 b. ME ME ME. I think this is because she the niece to Lillian G. (Collins)(MOODY) Gatchell.

H. Varney clergyman in Lisbon Falls, (Androscoggin Co.) ME on Sept. 22, 1917. On the back of the record it continues with showing the bride and grooms Parents. Mildred's Parents are shown as Louis COLLINS born in Brunswick and Fannie HUNTER who was deceased and born in Lisbon. So this would explain why Lillian and Wm. E. MOODY adopted Lillian's niece Mildred after her mother died. Louis probably could not take care of the child as he had to work and probably could not afford to hire anyone to care for her either. In the 1920 Lisbon, Androscoggin Co., ME census living on Prince Ave. dated Jan. 5th comes the following info. Frank H. SMITH age 56 b. ME laborer - stone crusher Nellie A. wife age 58 b. ME living with them are: Harry W. SMITH - ADOPTED age 22 b. ME ME ME - Weaver in woolen mill (so Harry was adopted too and this was probably a common connection between Harry and Mildred) Mildred (nee COLLINS...MOODY)- age 22 daug.-in-law shecker in the woolen mill b. ME ME ME and Myrtie E. Nelson boarder age 32 laundress b. ME ME ME Since these two were born c1897/1898 I have posted this info with no fear of them still being alive.
And just for the record - Lillian G. (Collins) (Moody) Gatchell, went on to marry again to a William A. MAXWELL as is noted in the later census' and on her death record. Lillian Grace Maxwell place of death - Brunswick, ME lived at 54 Water St. was age 50 years old date of death Oct. 4, 1921, place of birth given as Farmington, ME (???) Parents names given as shown above and her husband listed as William A. Maxwell a ships carpenter. Cause of death - Angina Pectoris. She was buried in the Varney Cemetery in Brunswick, ME. OH and one last thing, I forgot to mention that Louis COLLINS (little Mildred's father) was Lillian's brother. The 1880 Brunswick, ME census shows the following: James COLLINS age 53 laborer b. ME ME ME Eveline wife age 43 b. ME ME ME Mary 18 LOUIS age 16 son Abbie 12 LILLIAN 9 Tena?? William both age 7 - Twins? Josiah 3 Ernest ? 1-All kids b. ME William E. MOODY; Lillian's future husband lived just 12 houses away.
Here is some more info ~ William C. MOODY and his 2nd wife Mrs. Mary F. (nee REMICK) (EATON) again, this William C. was a brother to my 3rd grt. grandfather (son of Lt./Capt. Joseph MOODEY as his last name was spelled on his marriage record, and Miss Hannah MITCHELL his 2nd wife also of Brunswick at that time), Wm. C. and Mary F.had son Herbert P. MOODY who according to his Marriage record married Mabel P. PARKER in Brunswick, ME. Herbert and Mabel were both listed as age 22 at the time of their marriage (so both b. c1876). Herbert's occupation at the time was a Bookkeeper and it was the first marriage for both. They were married on Nov. 26, 1895 or 1898 (hard to read). Grooms Parents were listed as: William C. MOODY of Brunswick and Mary F. REMICK of Brunswick Mabel's Parents were - Lewis PARKER of Brunswick and Belle SHOREY of Brunswick (she b. in Albion, ME...Lewis b. in Brunswick). Herbert P. MOODY served in the Spanish-American War and has a grave marker in Brunswick. Herbert died as young man after a tragic accident. He was working for the rail road and apparently was killed when train cars ran over him crushing his skull. His Death record reads as follows: Herbert P. MOODY place of death - (presumed Bethel, ME it says) "killed by cars" Date of death Feb. 25, 1905 age 31 years Occupation - Brakeman on Rail Road Name of Father William C. MOODY " of Mother Mary F.
