Searching for a link between the Matthew MOODY b.c1795 who lived in Cullyvenny, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland at the time of his death in Nov. 1860 at age 65 [per Ballylaggan Reformed Presbyterian Church gravestone] who was married to Mary ARCHIBALD who was b. c1792 also buried same place, and the John MOODY b.c1838 who was living in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, Nor. Ireland at the time of Matthew's death. John MOODY, blacksmith/farmer of Ballymoney was shown to be of at least 21 years of age at the time of Matthew's death via a letter of Administration attached to Matthew's will dated Sept. 1860. Since we know we have ties to MOODY's of Ballymoney/Balnamore, Co. Antrim, and that we have Ydna ties to a John MOODY b.c1835 (awfully close in age to this John MOODY of Matthew's will), is this showing us a possible link between these two families?? I am still trying to research this as a very likely possibility. Matthew MOODY b.c1795 may be an older brother to our Ydna John MOODY b.c1835 whose father was a James MOODY a weaver who lived in Balnamore, Co. Antrim who wife is not known. John MOODY b.c1835 (son of James) married Mary Ann LESLIE and her father was a John LESLIE a farmer in Co. Antrim. John MOODY b.c1835 and wife Mary Ann had a daughter Mary Jane MOODY who married William HOGG (son of Andrew HOGG and Eliza (Elizabeth) CONNOR also of Co. Antrim. It would be Terrific to be able to tie these families together from Cullyvenny, Co. L'derry to Ballymoney/Balnamore, Co. Antrim. The name John MOODY is SO common in Nor. Ireland that I am trying not to get my hopes us too much, but the dates and places sure do match up very well. It is most likely that by Nov. 1860, Matthew's brother James of Balnamore, Co. Antrim might have been deceased and that is why he named his Nephew John MOODY, blacksmith/farmer of Ballymoney, Co. Antrim as one of his Executors of his estate in his will of 1860. Also, in Matthew's family he named a son Thomas James MOODY. The John MOODY b.1835 son of James the weaver also named a son Thomas...but Thomas John MOODY. Since the name of "Thomas" is very common among our Ydna branches of Moody's, again, I feel this is showing us a very likely link between these two families. I am hoping my queries I have put out will gain some further knowledge to prove this. If anyone here can help, we would be Most greatful. Thank you in advance.
