Just wanted to add this to the site in case it might be helpful to others. This is probably not new info to others who have continued to research the Clement Moody line, but it was new info to me (I think...I did a search on this page for info about this couple but didn't immediately find anything, so here goes)...anyway, from the New Hampshire Marriage Records of 1697-1947 comes the following: James MOODY married Elizabeth QUIMBY in Wakefield, Carroll Co., NH on Nov. 22, 1792. Their son was Abner MOODY who was born c1804 in/of Epping, NH who was found living in 1850 and 1860 in Parsonsfield, York Co., ME with the Gilman LOUGEE family (in 1850) and then as head of household in 1860 and living with him was what appears to be his sister who was in 1860 age 64 yrs. old also born in NH (Sarah MOODY). From Abner MOODY's Death Record it states that he died in Parsonsfield, ME on Oct. 7, 1864 at age 60 years old and that he was born in Ossipee, NH and that he was single and a farmer by trade. It gives his parents as James MOODY and Elizabeth ______ and that his father was born in Brentwood, NH.Abner died of consumption. In the NH Birth's and Christening records I found an Elizabeth QUIMBY b. Aug. 23, 1759 in So. Hampton, Rockingham Co., NH daug. of Benjamin Quimby and Elizabeth _____.She ~might~ be the Elizabeth Quimby who married the above James MOODY.
Another Elizabeth QUIMBY b. July 4, 1757 in Kingston, Rockingham Co., NH to Moses QUIMBY and Judah BEAN could also be the one who married James MOODY. Although each of these women would have been in her 30's when she married James MOODY, it is still a possibility.
Anyway, I see now that there is no way this James Moody and Elizabeth ____ listed on Abner's death record in York Co., ME are my James and Elizabeth (Donald/Donnell) Moody, so I just wanted to get this info out there in case it was helpful to others.
