The names/dates that I am pretty sure of are of my great great grandfather and my great grandfather.
Solomon Jackson Moomey b Ohio Sep-04-1860 d Muscatine, Iowa Nov-14-1938.He was married to Eunice Castle (also listed in some resources as Eunice Castle Bramble, she was married prior to marrying this SJM).
They had a son, Solomon Jackson Moomey, b Gregory Landing Missouri (very close to Keokuk) Feb-16-1886 d Muscatine Iowa 1956.. He married Dorothy Frederika Freese and had several children, Elmus, the youngest male, was my grandfather.
Both of these Solomons are buried in Iowa, near Muscatine.I don't have the exact locations but I believe I could find them (I had them at one point in time).I also have pictures of these two.
I would guess, based on the dates I have, that my great great grandfather is this Solomon who was 8 yrs old in 1870..that would make one of our dates 2 yrs off, but that isn't all that uncommon, is it?It also says he was born in Illinois, but how accurate is that in most cases?
Is the Solomon who is 49 in the 1870 census the son of George and Barbary then? That would make George my greatx4 grandfather I'd guess?
