Yep, Seth, the census info. was only as accurate as the person giving the info. (and occasionally it was the next door neighbor)
How do I keep it all organized? It's through the computer-like mind of my mother, Lucile Marshall.Sometimes she has a glitch, however, like when she told me "Fairfield" and it was supposed to be "Pickaway" for "Salmon".When she's gone, I'll probably have to close up the ol' genealogy shop.
Her best guess for your family tree (which would bring you back to the earlier Mummey's I've posted) is:
George & Barbary Ellen (no known last name) had Soloman in 1820.
Solomon and Lucinda Winsted had Solomon, who was probably the earliest Soloman you were aware of.
In 1880, Henderson Illinois, Solomon Mumey, 18, was living withe Lucinda (head of the home). It did say he was born in Illinois, but you know how that goes.
I checked FamilySearch and found a Solomon W. Mumey who was married 23 Dec. 1885 in Aledo, Mercer, Illinois.Made me wonder....Let's hope it's not a fly in the ointment.
