Death of an Aged Citizen
Mr. Pleasant Moon died at his residence 7 miles above this city, on Wednesday night last, in the 83d year of his age. His father John Moon married Mary Dudley in Virginia in 1795, and in 1797 moved to the lower portion of this county where he settled and was the father of six children, all of whom are now dead.
Mr. Pleasant Moon married Frances Borroum in 1819, and lived with her until her death, in 1857, and she bore him eleven children. After her death he never married again, living with his children during the remainder of his life, seven of whom preceeded him to the grave. He was connected with the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1831, and has been a member of it ever since.
He was strictly an honest, pious man, and was well known in this County and loved by everyone who knew him.
His remaines were interred at Jackson Grove Church burial ground, beside those of his wife and children.
