Moonans in Armagh - 1840s
Today, I viewed microfilm from Seagoe Parish (RC) in County Armagh (this parish is just north of Portadown).
I find the marriage of my gg grandparents:
James Farrell of Slantry to
Mary Moonan of Drumcree Parish
July 28, 1842
Witnesses:
Patt Moonan of Drumcree
Ann Woodhouse of Drumcree
John McConville of Slantry
I note in Griffiths Valuation that there were only 3 Moonans in Co. Armagh - all three in Drumcree.
James Farrell and Mary Moonan and kids emigrated sometime in 1849/50 to Canada and were in Clarenceville, Quebec in 1851 and by 1855 had a farm in Storrington township, just north of Kingston Ontario.
Now that I know, as of today, that I am descended from Moonans, I will be taking an active interest in Moonans.
