Hello! Not sure if anyone accesses this site anymore, but I thought I'd give it a try.I have been off research for a while and have been back to Ireland since. The Patrick "Pax" Moonan I referred to is my great uncle who was born in the early 1900's in Ireland and came to the U.S. after 1920, then lived in Philadelphia, PA until his death a few years back.I was mistaken in that his father's name was not James, but Patrick also.It is Patrick Moonan Sr., who was born in Ardee, Co. Louth, Ireland and his family that I am interested in.The patriarch of Patricks' family was Bryan Moonan, my great-great-grandfather, who was a very talented woodworker (carpenter) who, along with his sons, Patrick, Brian and Maurice, did the woodwork for a great many schools and churches in Ardee as well as in and around Dublin. The most notable work can be seen in St. Patricks' Chapel at the college in Maynooth. I encourage anyone who is traveling to Dublin to visit the college, the work is superb!I am still trying to find out more about the Moonans' of Co.Louth.I know that we all must be related in some way.I am hoping to get back to Ireland and visits Ardee this time. The records availabilty over there now is much, much better than the last time.If any of you have any new info on the Moonans, please write to me.
