Dr. Thomas Richardson Aldrich's son, William Conner(sp) Aldrich and his wife Mary Manson Thompson raised my grandfather, Robert Bryan Aldrich, II, son of Robert, I, and his wife, Rosa Theodora Thompson, cousin of Mary Manson Thomspon. The Thompson family originated in Sweden before about 1849 and changed the name from Gouder or Gouden. By the way, my grandfather had a half-sister, May Aldrich, who married James Augustus Moore of Ocala, Florida. There were several children by that marriage, but I have not yet been able to locate them.
I do have some notes on the Maner family, but not in my computer. But, if I recall correctly, there was a connection between the Maners and the Riley family of Orangeburg, or at least a claim of a relation. There was a supposed connection between them and a Frances Riley who married Daniel (or David Stroble, born 1825 ).Have you seen this?Who was this Stroble.I believe he was buried at Four Holes Church but not sure on that.
Speaking of Strobels.Got a message from one of the descendants of Rayford Stroble. He replied to an earlier post and is getting me in touch with relative.
