I havent got a George Moorhouse but mine moved to Burnley circa 1840. I have a William born abt 1816 who came from Skipton and married a Burnley lass in the early 1830s. They stayed in Skipton for a while and then went to live permanently in Burnley. There are various surnames used as christian names in the line eg Currer, Mason. William was one of about 7, children of Alice Scott and John Moorhouse of Bradley, Skipton.I dont know where you live but if you are able to get to Skipton library, they have some wonderful books of parish records where the vicar detailed a mini family history for each christening or wedding so you have about 3 generations named for each christening and their origins. If your George came originally from Skipton you will probably find some really helpful detail. Let me know if you are too far away from Skipton to look because I might be paying a visit to the library soon and might have time to look up for you.
