Hello everyone, I have a doozy for you. My last name through my paternal line, has been spelt all three ways. Although my forefather five generations before me came from Canada, when he came to Minnesota, it was "David Morin". When my great-great grandfather, Philarome Moran was married to Clarrise Doucette, the Doucette family spelled it "Moren" for their family records. However, when they created the stained glass windows for Holy Family Catholic Church is Belle Prairie, Minnesota, the one dedicated to my fore father, David, was written "David Morin". My brothers who acted as altar boys when they were younger, thought that the window was referred to someone else, and could NOT be any relation to us. We do NOT know when the spelling was changed to "Moran". My great-grandfather, Dave Moran, son of Philarome and Clarisse, had spelt it that way throughout his life.
