Final rites were held Wednesday afternoon at Boeheim Funeral Home, 19 Jackson St., for Adelbert Morey, 38 years old, who died in Lyons Hospital Sunday, June 15, where he was brought the day before suffering from a self-inflected bullet wound. Burial was in Lock Berlin Cemetery. The Rev. J Russell Carpenter officiated.
Mr. Morey, employed as a farm hand near Butler, on Saturday afternoon shot himself below the heart, according to State Troopers Karl Andrews, BCI, and Richard Camp, who investigated.
Mr. Morey was born in Lyons March 22, 1909, the son of the late Ensign and Grace Beldecker Morey.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Husner Morey; two sons, Adelbert and Robert, and four daughters. Ruth, Shirley, Betty, and Caroline, all at home; a brother, Fred Morey of Holcomb: four sisters, Mrs. Nelson Kruger. Seneca Falls; Ruth, Grace and Luella Morey, and by his stepfather, Henry D. Miller, of Rochester.
